Taurie Mitchell

Taurie Mitchell is a choreographer, dancer, and dance instructor from Northern Virginia. Her passion for dance began when she was 4 years old with tap. Ms. Mitchell has been dancing at Northern Virginia Dance Academy for the past 14 years. In 2014 Ms. Mitchell began Student Teacher training under Robin Conrad Sturm and began teaching her own classes in 2016.

In 2013, Ms. Mitchell was accepted into the Asaph Dance Ensemble, since her acceptance she has featured in signature rolls such as; “Holy Spirit” in The Nutcracker – Clara’s Christmas, Et Misericordia, Respighi, Trois Pieces Breves, and Handel’s Messiah. Ms. Mitchell has also choreographed for the Academy Dance Ensemble, a small performance group based out of Northern Virginia Dance Academy. In 2015 Ms. Mitchell was Assistant Choreographer in the musical South Pacific at Osbourn Park High School. There on, Ms. Mitchell has choreographed Young Frankenstein, Oklahoma! and Music Man independently at Osbourn Park High School. Ms. Mitchell is currently working on obtaining her Degree in Dance and Business at Northern Virginia Community College.
